Carmella Cicero (Nursing) has been helping administer vaccines to the public as a member of the COVID-19 Vaccine Nurse Volunteer Program. During her first shift in early January, she traveled to Manatee County to administer vaccines to 150 healthcare workers and 600 individuals 65 years or older. “It was an amazing experience. It was heartwarming. Many of the individuals were emotional and tearful as I administered their vaccine,” she said. Cicero was employed as a Registered Nurse for LeeHealth until May 2020, when she started the DNP Nurse Anesthesiology program at FGCU.
