FGCU to award 650 degrees at summer commencement

Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) will award 650 degrees August 3, 2019. A combined total of 449 graduates are expected to participate in the 9 a.m. ceremony at Alico Arena on the Fort Myers campus.

FGCU President Mike Martin will confer degrees, and the commencement address will be delivered by alumnus Brian Hamman, a Lee County commissioner.

Integrated studies is the most represented undergraduate major. Clinical mental health counseling will be the most awarded master’s degree.

Tickets for 2,694 guests have been distributed for the ceremony, which can be viewed via webcast at https://fgcu.edu/webcast. Alico Arena policy prohibits balloons and noisemakers.

FGCU has awarded more than 35,000 degrees since opening in fall 1997.
