Jose Pastrello (’05, Business Management) recently won two awards from the U.S. Professional Tennis Association (USPTA).

The head pro at Quail Creek Country Club in Naples, Pastrello was named the association’s Florida District Professional of the Year and also received the District of the Year Award. He is President of the USPTA’s Bonita District.

“Jose is one of those rare individuals whose amazing athletic talents are exceeded by his impressive skills at teaching the game of tennis and providing meaningful leadership,” said Quail Creek President Bob Magrann.

Born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Pastrello moved to Florida in 2001 and played on a tennis scholarship at St. Leo University, where he was ranked No. 1 in singles and doubles. In 2005, he graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a degree in Business Management. As a member of FGCU’s tennis team, Pastrello was ranked No. 7 in NCAA’s Division 2 for doubles.

Pastrello also has extensive teaching experience, providing individual and group instruction for children and adults in both the U.S. and Brazil during the past 13 years.
