FGCU will showcase its international education initiatives and welcome this year’s international students, scholars and study abroad participants during the 20th annual International Reception at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16 in the Cohen Center Ballroom.

“To date, we have had over 100 countries represented by our international students,” International Services Director Elaine Hozdik said. “Additionally, a number of our students have studied abroad as part of their educational experience to places such as Australia, Argentina, Bahamas, Costa Rica, Croatia, France, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Scotland, South Africa, Spain and United Kingdom. Our faculty also host colleagues from abroad each year and engage in collaborative teaching and research with counterparts around the world.”

At the reception, FGCU will highlight its commitment to offering an educational experience with global perspectives. Remarks by university officials and student leaders and cultural performances will be followed by a reception including a sampling of foods and display of flags from around the world. This event is an opportunity to become acquainted with FGCU students, scholars from other countries and students who have studied abroad.

The event is sponsored by FGCU International Services with funding from the FGCU Student Government.  For more information, contact Elaine Hozdik at (239) 590-7925 or email [email protected].
