Alumni bowl for scholarships rescheduled

1 - minute read

This year’s FGCU Alumni Association bowling fundraiser has been rescheduled due to Hurricane Irma.

Tickets are still available for the 11th annual Strikes for Scholarships, to be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 at HeadPinz Entertainment Center, 14513 Global Parkway in Fort Myers.  Last year’s sold-out event raised more than $20,000 for student scholarships — enough for the FGCU Alumni Association to award three scholarships this academic year.

“It’s so gratifying to have our alumni support this annual tradition and the impact it makes for our students,” said Alumni Relations Director Kimberly Wallace.  “It’s a great opportunity for our alumni and friends to reconnect while making a difference for the next generation of Eagles.”

About 300 alumni will bowl, network for two hours and support a silent auction while enjoying refreshments.  Bowlers can sign up individually or as a team at $30 per adult and $15 per child (7 and younger), including shoe rental.

To register, go to the Alumni Association website. For more information, call Angela Kunkle, Assistant Director of Alumni Relations, at (239) 745-4343.

The Alumni Association is dedicated to encouraging graduates in a lifelong allegiance with FGCU and fellow alumni, cultivating opportunities for personal and professional growth after graduation, celebrating pride in the principles and achievements of FGCU and its graduates, and inspiring individual investment in the university’s future.
