Got a short film you’d like to get in front of an audience?
FGCU’s Integrated Studies Program is hosting the first Content International Film Festival in March to celebrate creative work by independent filmmakers from around the globe.
Organizers Farshad Aminian-Tankei, a filmmaker and associate professor of media studies, and Eric Otto, an associate professor and director of General Education, are accepting submissions through Dec. 2 for what they hope will become an annual campus event.
They are looking for submissions from filmmakers who present unique creative and artistic views, as well as socially and politically responsible subject matter. They welcome a wide variety of genres and approaches, including but not limited to narrative, documentary, animation and experimental films. Films can run from one to 20 minutes. A nonrefundable $20 entry fee is required. Entry forms are online.
The March 20-21 festival will provide a channel for underrepresented filmmakers to showcase their works on campus. The festival schedule will be announced after the selection process is completed.
