Presidential search on track for Dec. 9 decision

1 - minute read

The next president of Florida Gulf Coast University is expected to be named in early December, pending confirmation by the Florida State University System Board of Governors.

The FGCU Board of Trustees’ Presidential Search Advisory Committee is scheduled to interview candidates Nov. 17-18 and select at least three finalists to forward to the full board. Public forums with the finalists take place Dec. 7-8 and the board makes its selection Dec. 9. The chosen candidate will be submitted to the BOG at its Jan. 25-26 meeting. The university’s fourth president will succeed Wilson G. Bradshaw, who retires at the end of June.

The advisory committee began meeting in April and selected the executive search firm Witt/Kieffer to assist with candidate recruiting, applications and screening. Public forums and an online survey were used to gather input from faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members on the next president’s characteristics, qualifications and goals.
