Watch FGCU science scholar discuss importance of stars

1 - minute read

Thinking about the solar system is often a foreign concept for the average person. However, in this talk from TEDxFGCU 2015, Dr. Derek Buzasi challenges us to start caring about what happens in the sky and provides real insight on the importance of the stars that we gaze at in the night sky.

Dr. Derek Buzasi is the Whitaker Eminent Scholar for Science at Florida Gulf Coast University and has studied the sun and stars inside and out, for nearly three decades. He led the rescue effort for NASA’s WIRE spacecraft and served as a participating scientist on NASA’s Kepler mission. His current work skirts the boundary between the science of stars and planets in order to ultimately learn about the formation and evolution of the solar systems.
